Blocks & Building

Blocks & building toys are among some of the most versatile and mentally stimulating toys currently available for youngsters. Anyone who grew up playing with 'lego' bricks would understand how versatile these kinds of toys can be. Building toys allow children to build any kind of toy, so to speak, so long as they have enough 'building material' and enough imagination. However conventional blocks & building toys have a very scary problem, the size of the bricks can be a choking hazard for younger children. Thus when purchasing toys buying the right product for the right age group is imperative. Pediatricians and therapists agree that toddlers as young as they are have to exercise their cognitive skills and encouraging children to refine their motor skills has a long term benefit for young children.

Outside the conventional building toys there are also some new innovations such as stacking toys and tube toys, popularly referred to as 'tubation' toys. It should be pointed out that these come in either plastic or wood options. It is always refreshing for children when they have different mechanics to play around and experiment with, thus its not surprising to see children try to string together blocks with different mechanics to create different works of art. Block & building toys are mostly sold in sets with an originally intended end design, say a car or train set, but as these toys go that is just the beginning of the many forms each toy can be made to take by its user. The CLICS line of connectable toys are an excellent line for older children that have a sense for building structures and real life objects. They come in sets such as the pirate set and fireman set and are commonly   bought together as they are completely compatible with each other.
